Questions for 2011 Brides?

--- Were you starting to freak out around 3-2-1 months, whether it be money related or just things to do,or anything else?
--- Did you procastinate on anything and regret it or was anything more difficult then you expected and allocated time for?
--- Did most of your 'NO' rsvp's come in right before the deadline?

Thanks for anyone still on here checking the board!

1. didn't really freak out- just got more and more excited!

2. thanks to liw I started all my details from way out so I would recommend doing that too so you don't have 1,000,000 things to do the week before your wedding. I took a few days off work about 3 weeks out to organzize and box everything and label where they were going and do running around that I didn't want to save for the week of. This way I was pretty much able to just relax the week of.

3. YESSS!! No's pretty much all came at the deadline and after the dealine

good luck and congrats!!

Thanks so much. I need to get cracking on the DIY stuff... trying to figure out the RSVP situation because as soon as we get some no's there are other ppl we want to invite. Damn all the last minute ppl!

- i started to freak out at the 1 month mark. but i was excited. it was just a lot of changes for me. i didn't freak out about money until i literally brought our bank account down to $600 two days before the wedding but then i just reminded myself that it would be refilled right away after the wedding
- i didn't really procrastinate on any thing but i did wait until 3 nights before the wedding to put rhinestones on my guestbook tree and was up until 4am with burnt fingers from hotglue
- yes, most of the NO RSVPS came right at or after the deadline. i'm still waiting on some of them

1- We were really excited, but kept worrying about if we were going to have enough money for everything. Somehow, everything works out in the end so enjoy the days leading up

2- I basically had everything done weeks before. It was just a matter of boxing everything up, writing the instructions for everything in the boxes, and making sure we had everything we needed because we were leaving for our HM the following morning.

3. We actually received a bunch of no's a few days after sending out the invitations. But they were all from OOT family that we expected not to come, so it wasn't that much of a shock to us. We did however have to track down a lot of rsvps after the deadline, and some of those we counted as no's because we never heard from them at all. And of course, we had a fwe no show's the say of.

Enjoy this time girlie, it's coming sooner than you expect

Thanks for the replies I really appreciate it!

So helpful to read about boxing things up and about no money being in the wedding savings but then it getting replenished right after the wedding.

We are both very excited!

YES. I just didn't think I'd have time to get everything done. Also waiting for RSVPS and table seating etc was a pain in the neck. fitting into the dress was a huge concern of mine too lol

--- Did you procastinate on anything and regret it or was anything more difficult then you expected and allocated time for?

I procrastinated on practically everything so I'm not the right person to ask. One thing i wish i allowed time for was a list of things I wanted the photographer to shoot. I am pretty laid back and I trusted his judgement (and he did a damn good job don't get me wrong) but I wish I told him to take pictures of some of the details that I thought of. LIke his and hers forks, our champagne flutes, cake server set that had the bows that matched my dress, etc

--- Did most of your 'NO' rsvp's come in right before the deadline?

I only had 8 no's and they came pretty early.

I only invited around 125 people (this is including everyone with a plus 1) and my minimum was 100. A lot of people decided not to bring dates . So I had a lot of rsvps for just one.

So my final count was 105 including DH and I and I had 3 no shows. My minimum almost to the tee I was soooo happy it worked out and people didn't just bring a date to have one. Saved me a bunch of money

I freaked out from day 1, lol I am high strung and a perfectionist so I rarely slept constantly going over the lists in my head

Actually no, everything went alot smoother than I originally anticipated!

Yes all my no's came at the end

HTH!

1. Being a HS teacher and the senior class advisor, June is a crazy crazy month for me, so I didn't get nutty about the wedding until the one month mark. Then I kicked my DYI stuff into overdrive, but I had the time to do the stuff at that point! I'm painfully organized (my friends tell me that I've surpassed anally organized and have reached the painfully organized level) so I had everything under control. I love lists and let me tell you...I had tons of them!

2. I was freaking out about trying to print out the damn placecards. My printer kept eating them. So literally the day before we were supposed to drop them off at Russo's I ran to Staples to get them printed. I should have just done that from the beginning!

3. My no's were mixed in...

The only thing I can tell you for sure is that somehow, it all works out and is the best day ever!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Probably a slight panic at three months. Then about a month before more so.

I am a major procrasinator so the night before my wedding I was putting wedding programs together LOL

Most no's came at the end yes.

I had about 30 no's which was pretty much exactly 20%

Re: Questions for 2011 Brides?

I didnt panic until the month of, and then i started buying stuff like crazy, worried that i didnt have enough personal details or enough things to make it unique, looking back i prob should have stopped myself, but it wasnt a total waste bc my guests raved about the little details
after the wedding i never understood why some brides said to skip them because honestly thats what my guests loved most they appreciated all the little details

The only thing I procrastinated on was my veil, I ended up buying 3 veils within the few weeks before my wedding

and like the other girls most of my Nos came after the deadline or right before...be prepared to have to hunt people down and remind them to respond

Re: Questions for 2011 Brides?

Thank you all for the responses!!! I know everyones busy with the holidays and all but I love the feedback.

We have a smaller guest list and have a B-list of ppl we'd like to have there if we get some No's. We are figuring that as soon as we get a 'no' then we can send out the b-list invite.

So, how many wks did you give ppl to respond? I think im going to be 'that bride' that goes around calling ppl and telling them to send back the RSVP. With a smaller guest list its not like these ppl are extended family or friends of friends.

I have a 100 min too! I would love to be that close to my min! my original invite list was 124.... since then my parents both decided to add people so now I am at 155 I am hoping and praying to end up with like 120!

This was consent throughout my 2 and 1/2 year engagement. Sort of got worse but like a month before when we saw the bank account was were it was everything was ok.

--- Did you procastinate on anything and regret it or was anything more difficult then you expected and allocated time for?

I did ALOT of stuff within the first year of being engaged so when the time grew near I was all in for the wedding stuff. I dont regret anything with my wedding it was a special time and I could never replicate it.

--- Did most of your 'NO' rsvp's come in right before the deadline?

Somewhat but there were def alot of Yes's that turned to No's and it was from people who I valued alot.

I would be extremely happy with 30 no's. Did you have a lot of OOT guests?

We had some pretty annoying money issues like 3 weeks till the day before...eventually it all worked out.

And I just ran out of time to do programs and to get bubbles for after the ceremony...still bummed out about it

A decent amount of OOT but most of them came! I had a lot of no's from people not bringing guests and a couple OOT's.
