Questions on Renewing Passport

Anyone recently renew theirs? I'm sending mine in this week but I'm unsure about a few things...

One website says the renewal fee for the passport book is $110 and another says $75 (I'm sure it's $110...just double checking)

The website says to send it by traceable mail,,,but can you UPS it? or just use USPS?

Lastly, do you send both passport photos in? One had to be stapled to the application, but what do you do with the other?

This is such funny timing - I am actually on the phone with the passport agency now trying to locate my two daughters passports for our trip on 1/1....and yes, I am freaking out.

The renewal fee is definitely $110.00, I just confirmed with them for you.

It used to be required that two pictures are needed but that just recently changed, so only staple one picture to the application.

They said for a renewal it's better to use USPS because renewals go to a PO box and UPS does not deliver to PO's.

There is no charge to change your name on your passport, if the passport was issued within the past 1 year. If your current passport is older than one year, then you will need to pay the renewal fee.

Oh man! Well that sucks! I wonder if you can get away with it if you have your old license still LOL

You can get away with it as long as you book everything under your old name. Like when booking our HM I had it all booked under my maiden name so it matched my passport. When we went away to FL a couple months later, I booked my ticket under my maiden name and used my old license.

But when I recently when to Italy I had my ticket and all information booked in my married name so I had to change my passport. Paying the $110 is worth getting stuck in the airport and not being able to go someplace you planned.

As for the UPS thing, I sent mine UPS and seriously within 2 weeks they sent me back everything I sent them and my new passport.
