Re: questions to ask florist

Look in bridal magazines and pul pictures of whatever you like so you can go the appointment with a starting point. You will need a bo-k for yourself, bo-ks for MOH and BM, bouts for your FH and his GM, as well as dads and grandpas. You may want to do corsages for moms and grandmas. Do you need your ceremony site decorated? Have at least an estimate of how many tables you will have and what type of picec you want. Then the little things you may need are rose petals for the FG, decorations for during CH and on your cake table (those are optional of course), throw-away bo-k and that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Well, do you know what kind of flowers you want? If not, try asking what flowers are in season for your wedding, what colors would go best with your girls' dresses, etc. I would ask the cost of centerpieces, the cost of your bo-k, the cost of your girls' bo-ks, boutinierrs(sp), corsages, what is the price for ceremony flowers, who will be doing your flowers the day of your wedding, do they have insurance, What time will they be at the hall to set up everything....hmm, if I can think of more, I will let you know. I had NO clue what to ask my florist, but she was awesome and answered the questions I would have had if I had thought of them

The first thing would be to decide what you want to spend on each centerpiece and then tell your florist that so he/she knows your budget. Also, tell the florist what flowers you like and they can tell you if they are in your budget or if they're not, then ones that look similar, but are less expensive.
Don't worry, your florist will guide you through the process!

I was so clueless when it came to this. Laurie from Lablossom came to my house with her laptop and had tons of pictures of flowers. And said these will look goot with the girls dresses. She was amazing. Definetly look through magazines. Find out what you want. At the end of her writting down all of the flower choices where she asked what our budget was and came in under.

When a florist gives you a quote for a particular centerpiece - ask how many of each flower will be in it - that way you can estimate the fullness of the centerpeice and you compare that florists quote to another quote...
