I had left a deposit with the DJ a few weeks ago. The deposit was for only $100. I called them today to see when we are to meet with them. The receptionist told me that we only need to meet with them 4 weeks before our wedding. This is making me a little nervous thats like a whole year away. What if they misplace our contract or something. Is this the way dj bookings are? Am I just getting crazy for no reason? I have heard so many horror stories from brides I just want to make sure that I have a DJ when our wedding comes!

We booked out dj 1 1/2 years in advance and they said the same thing. They did ask for a slightly higher deposit though. I just kept in touch via email asking a questions here and there and confirming the date, etc. I'm sure it'll be fine!

I also booked a year and a half in advance and have had no problems...Don't worry about it!

we did the exact same thing!!! it is a little unnerving to think you won't have any contact with vendors for 1+ years. every once in a while i call to just chat, inquire about stuff, just so i know they still have record of everything.
