How do I apply for this? I think I'm supposed to bring this with me tomorrow night when I meet with the priest.

Re: Quick help? Marriage license.
Hey hun.. we got ours this morning..
we went to the town hall in Hempstead.
we both brought our licenses and passports.. you go in and the girl asks you questions, she types it into her pc and then makes a print out and you reconfirm that all the info is correct, pay her (you can pay cash, or if you want you can use a check but it has to be in your name) and that's it...

Re: Quick help? Marriage license.
You don't need a marriage license for pre-cana.
The license is good for 60 days.

Re: Quick help? Marriage license.
I got my today as well, but in Manhattan. The license is good for 60 days and it says on our application that it expires on 8/29. We brought our passports for ID, which were acceptable. There were signs that said a driver's license was acceptable as well. Make sure that your payment is in a money order - that was the only form of payment acceptable. Also, bring a pen. In the Manhattan office, there were no pens available and there were signs that said that no pens would be available. Oh, I forgot to add that if you're getting your license in Queens, it costs $30.

Re: Quick help? Marriage license.
Thanks so much ladies. Additional info I found out for Suffolk brides, I'm going to Islip town hall because they are open until 7:30pm on Tuesdays. The clerk said I would need SS card, drivers license, birth certificate and $25 (check is ok). Smithtown town hall is only open until 3:30pm.

Re: Quick help? Marriage license.
anytime
if you do decide to get it done at the post office, make sure to call up ahead of time.. only certain post offices do it and they do it on certain dates and times..
I know that the one in Valley Stream does it too.
=)
oh and have your check book handy and your pics and other forms of ID to show.. =)

Re: Quick help? Marriage license.
FH and I went yesterday and got our marriage license and passports. The whole process took about an hour. Marriage license you both need your driver's license and birth certificate (can be a copy with the seal), and $25.00 cash or personal check with one of your names on it. If your driver’s license is out of state you need a second photo ID. The passport you need your birth certificate and driver's license and your old passport if you have it. If your original passport is expired and it was issued when you were under 16 - you need a new one not a renewal. The fee is $55.00 - plus $35.00 if you get it at the town of Hempstead. $55.00 is to the US Dept of State and the $35.00 is to the town clerk (you need to separate checks). We were told we would have our passports by 7/29/03.
