ok so i just got my mother in law a really nice card ive never addressed her as 'mom' yet so inside the card
what should i put ??

I personally would just use her name. I don't plan on referring to FMIL as Mom. But if you have that kind of relationship than go for it

I would say definately use Mom, I've been using 'Mom' in my cards to her even before we were engaged so I think using her name would be too formal/cold

We always send cards from both of us... so I (or my FI, usually I have him write the cards to his parents) put Mom or Dad -- b/c it's also coming from him.
She's sent me cards for my b-day, etc. Some are signed Mrs. and some are signed 'Mom Pags' (nickname for FH's family's last name).
If you've never called her Mom or she hasn't told you to, I'd go with Mrs. XXXX (or whatever you call her in person).

I would make your FH write it from the both of you lol then you could avoid that-- at least for this year!

I do the same thing!!! All the cards come from both of us, so it's not weird for it to say 'mom'... in person it's another story though, I don't call her anything!

I could never call my FMIL Mom.. I know some people do it.. and have that relationship so whatever works for you..
but I HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE when my sister in law does it..
Whenever she calls and says ' Is mom there?' I respond with 'Oh you mean MY mom?'
about the card.. I make FH fill out the cards to his side of the fam.. and I sign my name and write a little blurb like have a great day..

When she gives you a card how does she sign it? If you aren't sure is there something that you know she would prefer? If not, I would just write whatever you plan on calling her once you are married.
I call my MIL Mom, but it took a while getting used to it. It was a big adjustment for both of us.
