Quick question:

When is it customary to send out STDs and invitations? I know invitations should be way closer to the wedding, but don't know if I should already send our STDs considering we are a year away, thoughts?

I would send std's soon If your wedding is on or around a holiday or to any out of town guest so they can start to make arrangements to attend

I will be sending our STD's out in January, but since your wedding is near a holiday you may want to send yours out sooner since peoples schedules may be busier around that time of year.

I would send out STDs now. It is a nice way to let people know you are engaged and planning a wedding. Wedding invitations 3 months before wedding

I would send them out now, or the beginning of January. I sent mine out last January for our October wedding. The earlier the better

We did 9 months for STD bc then you have a 6mth gap b4 you send out invites.

I sent my save the dates in December my wedding is in August. My invitations will go out in June.

It's up to you! Do you have a lot of people traveling for your wedding? If so, Send the save the dates 6-9 months ahead. Invites should go out 3 months ahead.

I was wondering the same thing. I just ordered my save the dates, but have to still finalize the guest list. we are getting married in September so I hope this gives us enough time. Need to still get all the addresses as well...

its ok to send the std as soon as you book your venue...and the invites 2 months before the wedding

2 mo is way to close to the date. 3 mo is perfect. this way they have about a month to reply. And you have a month to get your final couts and seating charts done. Also your gonna have to track people down who don't reply ( pain in the butt).

We're now looking for a photographer to hopefully have an engagement session soon so we can have beautiful pictures for our STDs and hopefully will send those out ASAP!

personally i think it is way too early to send the STDs. i'm getting married around the same time as you and i am not sending mine until middle of may. from what i've been told, if you send it too early people just toss it to the side and forget about it. even if you want to send it early bc you will have a lot of out of town guests, most airlines aren't even taking reservations for december yet. IMO.

I got a STD over the summer for a wedding this coming summer... to tell you the truth I have no idea when the wedding is because I have no idea where I put the STD. 6 months is probably a good time.
