quick question for church brides re: marriage license

does the priest sign the marriage license at the ceremony or afterward?

I really dont know when the priest signs it, we signed it during the ceremony and the priest takes it and mails in it.

The priest signed ours at our rehearsal. Technically we were already married on May 12th.

We and our witnesses signed it at the rehearsal the night before the wedding. The deacon signed it after the ceremony and gave it to the church office to be filed.

I was told to bring it to the rehearsal and they will have it all taken care of.

DH & I, the priest & our MOH & BM signed it at the rehearsal. The priest then mailed it out after the actual wedding. It was just easier that way.

Same here...he then gave it back to us and we brought it to town hall 2 days later and got our marriage certificate then (rather than waiting the few weeks if the priest mailed it in). We spoke to the priest about doing it this way before hand.
