Re: Quick question- huntington schools

There's a number of schools in the Huntington area:

Huntington
South Huntington
Harborfields

I believe Harborfields is the better of the school districts, but I'm not sure which one is not doing well. I haven't heard anything about them.

DANIM823, I disagree with you. Based on stats, Harborfields (SD #6) definitely outperforms S. Huntington.

The numbers are available for Long Island school districts at Newsday Local School Data

I live in School District #13 and wish it was the better but it's not. Harborfields #6 is the best out of the Huntington School districts. But #13 is second out of huntington, so it is still a great district to live in. The only school that is slightly questionable in the district is the highschool, but come time that my kids will be going there, you never know things might have gotten better. My daughter loves her school.

There is a wide range of different kinds of kids ranging from Nerds to the bad kids, but there a few more bad kids then in neighboringing schools. AS far as the teachers, I here they are excellent. I went to a PTA meeting the other night and the superintendent was there and the school just received an award for certain teachers. With the way the population in Huntington is growing they might need to split the district again. Besides, in 10 years maybe the nerdy kids will take over the schol like in Revenge of the Nerds.........We love living in Huntington....It is perfect for us and definately a great start. Of course would love the big house, but think I would still stay in the same area. Hope this helped.
