quick ? regarding budget, realistic or unrealistic

Original post by eternitybride

hi everyone,

I am looking for advice. I am trying to plan a January 2010 wedding, and looking to stay under 17k if at all possible for around 100-120 people. Is this completely unrealistic, or is it possible?

Thanks in advance

I definetly think that it is possible. Like previous posts have said a Sunday winter wedding is going to save you money. Also, there are somethings that you can do yourself to save money. You may want to check with the halls that you are looking at because they might be give you the 2007 price if you book now rather than the 2010 price, which will be higher.

I am afraid to say 17k is not enough, I dont think its enough to even cover the hall, unles you find a really cheap hall and off peak.

hmm depending on where you go the reception hall can still be like 13-14k

You can absolutely do it. Do it at an off time of year and you'll save a ton!

Would you consider a Thursday night reception?? They are cheaper.

Definitely possible. I would start with what is important to you-if your RH is most important start there, price them out for different seasons and days...knock them off if the price is too high or if you dont like the venue itself. Most venues will include alot of things brides choose to do different, ex. placecards and cake...some may even do small cps (doesnt hurt to ask)
