for those of you who sent invites to the pres and or pope, did you include a response card & reception card or did you just send the invite in the outer envelope? thanks!

Re: quick silly question!
I've never even heard or considered doing this. Do you really want to invite/tell the president or pope that you getting married? Would you really want them there? Would they really come? Do they really care?

I would not bother with the response card. But I'd probably put in the reception card. Just my opinion.

Re: quick silly question!
My FI and I should send to the Pope. His great-uncle was in the seminary with the Pope (in Poland). FI's aunt had an 'audience' with the Pope a few years back. Never thought about sending to the president...

Re: quick silly question!
I was just joking around with my cousin about this yesterday. (Her hubby works for the Secret Service.) I was telling her how I wanted formal photos in front of Marine One. Turns out, she gets an anniversary card from the president every year.
My friend sent the invite only and she received letters back, but she didn't receive the congratulation letters till sometime after her wedding date.

Re: quick silly question!
I sent an invite to the President and First Lady and I got back a beautiful congratulations card that I will keep forever. If I recall it didnt come until after we were married...but we got married in October 2001, and after 9/11 there were alot of things that were changed or slow. Give it time, Im sure you will receive something!
