is she your FH's sister? can you have your FH talk to her and tell her that what she's doing is not ok?
i would tell her that if she feels like it's too much (it is a lot, to be honest), then she can drop out of the bridal party (can you find someone else to buy that dress from her?)

wow um...she seems a bit rude. I have complete compassion for anyone in a BP. $285 is a LOT for a dress but she didn't even pay for it. I'm only having a MOH who btw is LOADED and I'm letting her choose her own dress. But telling you that you are not getting a gift in that manner is damn rude. Too bad you cant dump her. lol

well I agree that the price of the dress is a bit expensive, she KNEW from the get-go that when she said yes to being a bm that there were going to be financial obligations.
you need to sit down and talk to her, tell her that the $250 for the dress might be a bit much, but the average cost of a dress is $175-200 (guessing) and that the price per plate is more than the difference. I would give her the option of stepping out of the bridal party. sell her dress to a replacement or sell it on ebay. she sounds far too much like a maidzilla!
