So tonight me and FH are going to sit down and really figure out a budget. We have a ballpark figure of our entire budget but when I think of the reception and how much it is costing I'm getting overwhelmed and discouraged so it's time to put it in writing. We only booked the reception so far so we pretty much need everything still. We have not looked into vendors yet and will start towards the end of summer. So if anyone would like to give us quotes regarding limos, dj's, flowers and the such can you please do so. It's just to get an idea and feel more comfortable and not frustrated.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Quotes for Budget
limo- $800-$1000 for one big limo for the whole party or closer to 1500-2000 for limo and a separate car for you and your FH
DJ- for a basic DJ/MC package I would say like $2000, for cocktail hour entertainment, uplighting and stuff I would say $3500
Flowers- 10% of your wedding budget usually. For 200 guests I would say around 3000-3500 depending on which florist you go to, types of centerpieces, how large the bridal party is, etc. Ex. Pedestals will quote you like 5k, whereas you can go to Costco and use their florist for probably like 1000-1500
Photo/Video- For both together, I would say around $4500-$5000 at a really good company. For just photography, around $3000 for a package for the full day with 2 photographers. Probably like $2000-$2500 for one photographer

Quotes for Budget
We didnt come up with a budget, I guess we worked backward... we picked what we liked 'within reason' of course and are paying for the wedding ourselves. Our DJ is 5K that includes lots of extras plus uplighting, we got a great price $5195 is our photographer and we got quotes from 3 others that were around 52,53 - this includes books, thank you cards e-shoots etc etc. Thats all I have so far :)good luck,

Quotes for Budget
Hey fellow Westbury Manor bride! I was feeling this way too. I'm getting Married 3/8/14 and all we've booked is the RH. So, I feel way behind where I should be at this point. I have no idea what the DJ, flowers, limo, and all the other million personal touches we want to add will cost. And we're supposed to be working on a budget, but it's all pretty overwhelming. I am going to start meeting with DJ's and photographers. I can FM you quotes as I get them if you'd like. Good luck!

Quotes for Budget
We are paying $3450 for DJ $5900 for photo/video $1000 for limos $1000 for church (including foccus, precana, music, donation, etc.) I am budgeting $4500 for flowers and $1000 for invites/menus/table numbers etc (I don't know how accurate that estimate is though) $15,000 for honeymoon
ETA: Its the little things that really add up. For example, flower girl baskets, gifts for bridal party, garter, parent gifts, etc.
ugh I hate thinking about the budget!

Thanks for the FM. We really appreciate it. I know FH keeps telling me not to worry but I always worry about money. Lol. I think once we set it straigh I will be a little more at ease. Right now we just talk about it and wing it and then when I realize it I freak out.

We really didn't come up with a budget either we had a ballpark figure in our heads and then when we were talking about it yesterday and realizing things I didn't realize how much more there was and that ballpark budget in our head seems to be so much more now.

Yes very overwhelming. There are days that I just sit there and think yay, I'm marrying my best friend then there are days where i get overwhelmed and freak out lol. I contacted one DJ company I got an email from for a price quote and they contacted me back and I wasn't around at the time I contacted him the next day 2 times I called and left a message and I haven't heard from him since. I was really looking forward to the quote just to get an idea but once that happened it turned me away from them for now at least. But yes if you don't mind sending me quotes when you get them that would be great. At the end of summer we are definitely cracking down and looking into vendors. I think I'm might try to go with the recommended vendors just so I don't have to worry about the hassle of getting insurance stuff from them. I figure since they are house vendors they know the rope and that's one less thing I have to worry about but I am also going to keep my options open for outside vendors.

I really hate thinking about the budget as well. Especially when we are pretty much paying for it by ourselves. We have help but the majority of it is us and unfortunately we have a huge guest list which we can't make smaller. FH has a big family so we can't cut Family and close friends out. I'm thinking of cutting a few from my work crew though or just send an invite so they don't feel left out and hope they all don't come. Lol.

Careful, I can't speak for all Vendors and all Halls of course, but a lot of the 'recommended Vendors' I looked into were way more cost wise then the average (its because they pay the hall to 'recommend them') You may be saving time with some paperwork, or even getting their dinner plate free, but once you break it down, their price can be hundreds and hundreds more than with a comparable company/service that isn't the halls set vendor.
I am not saying any/all halls have bad vendors or recommend bad vendors, or that they are trying to scam anyone. Just saying make sure you compare prices. I was shocked at the differences with some.

Thank you for that info. I never thought about that and I actually thought they would be more reasonable. I will definitely shop around. Thank you for sharing.
