Qustion/Poll of the Day

My parents are divorced and I don't talk to my dad. My step dad has been around since I was 18 (10 years) and I will be having my father daughter dance with him, but I am giving the honor of giving me away to my mom since she is the one who has stayed with me from the beginning. How about you guys, curious to see answers.

we choose to have a 'jewish ceremony' which both parents walk u down (me and FH) and stand at the alter with us....

never knew there was a difference... but its more special to have both our parents walk us both down, especially when the best mean is his brother and he will be up at the alter with us (alter= under the hoopah)

I am unsure about this. I kindof want both but I am sure my dad has envisioned walking me down my whole life and giving me away. I don't want to take that away from him. I am his first daughter getting married.

ETA: My mom said I should just let my dad have the honor. I have to think about this one still. Good question!

I am just having my dad give me away...I am sure he would like to give my dog away with me at the same time...

My dad wants both him and my mom to walk me down the aisle, but my mom wants just my dad to walk me. They've left it up to me... Oy Vey!

I originally wanted just my dad to give me away (try to do something traditional) but I'm having both parents walk me down the aisle. My mom actually asked if she could do it too which made me mad for her to intrude on a special moment between my father and I, but I realized they are both important parts of my life and they are both giving me away. And my dad and I will have our special time when we do the father/daughter dance.

we are doing this too. Unfortunately FH mom passed so his aunt will be walking him with his father

I am very close with my mom, so I would like both of them to walk me down---but that is up to them.

I would have had my father but, unfortunatly, that's no longer an option...

so, it's my mom now...

that's going to be so terrible hard...

My parents are divorced..My Dad doesn't walk so well and I don't want my Mom left out b/c she's done so much for me so I will have Mom walk me half way to meet my Dad and then we will all walk up together.

since you were pretty much an adult when your step dad came in2 the picture i'd say go with your mom.

I have that dilemma right now also. I want my mom and dad to walk me down b/c neither of them did the job alone but both of them are so laid back (former hippies lol) that they won't tell me what they want! I suspect my dad wants his time in the lime light..he's such a ham!

I love my mom... but i am my daddy's little girl. I am the oldest, i have 2 younger sisters, so I was my daddy's 1 and only princess for 8 years... i would not have it any other way than to give him the sole honor of giving me away and also dancing with me.... i am getting all teary eyed just thinking about it!
