R U Open-Minded

Just curious.... I know I am open-minded... but since being on these boards I feel like I am the EXTREMELY openminded! So I just wnted to see how many ppl consider themselves to be.

I think that i'm pretty open-minded in that I always try to see other people's points of view, even if I don't agree with them. I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm pretty accepting of most people and things, but not everything, so i couldn't choose the first one.

For myself and the decisions i make for my life...things are usually black and white..

I am somewhat open-minded in the fact that i listen to what other people have to say and take that into account. Sometimes i learn and grow from other peoples point of view...sometimes i believe i am right and nothing you can say will change that...

So i guess i am 50-50

ETA... I think my open-mindedness depends on what one is talking about.

I think it really depends on what the topic at hand is

ets...for an example..if it was the idea of my husband having homosexual experiences...well nope not open-minded AT ALL!
But if it was my friends experiences in homosexuality...well what ever makes you happy!

sometimes i can be very opinionated when it comes to issues, but i listen to what people have to say and go from there. but when it comes to peoples' lifestyles...well, whatever floats your boat. can't really criticize b/c i don't know what your life was like.

I was going to say that it depends on the topic...But then I was thinking that if I had to say that it depends on the topic, then I'm probably not open-minded. Right? Wouldn't being open-minded cover all topics??

I find it funny that 62% of respondants at thins time say they are very opened midned--if that were true, I don't think we'd have so many fights here.

I am open minded when it comes to believing that everyone desrves civil liberties, I am open minded in that fact that everyone lives their life how they want, I am open minded in knowing that you can have your own beliefs, I am NOT open minded in having my opinions/beliefs changed.

Does that make any sense?

Yes, I'm very open-minded. Its strange I turned out this way growing up in a strict Catholic family and having attended 13 years of Catholic school!

Yes, my extreme openmindedness comes from 18 years of Sunday School and strict Born Again Christian Parents. I see a link here...
