Rabbi?

Does anyone know of a good Rabbi to perform our ceremony?

We hired a cantor to do our wedding. But now, I am thinking that maybe it has to be a Rabbi. Since we are already doing a chuppah, shouldn't be done the right way? Does anyone know if the wedding HAS to be performed by a Rabbi? And do you happen to know one?

Thanks!

Re: Rabbi?

As far as I know, it does not have to be a Rabbi. I believe a cantor can perform the ceremony, but i'm trying to find a better answer for you.

Re: Rabbi?

It depends on what kind of ceremony you are having, if your having a reform ceremony it can be a cantor, a more conservative/orthodox ceremony you will need a rabbi

Re: Rabbi?

we are getting married by a cantor as well-- he's awesome.. FM me if you want his info. But, if you already have someone and are just asking to see if it's ok to use a cantor-- I think you are good to go..

Hey, if you can find out that would be great!

We already have a cantor, and I know that he is great, I am just concerned that its not 'by the book' We are not orthodox, but I still want to be married by the jewish law

Re: Rabbi?

i am using rabbi renee feller for my interfaith ceremony (obviously she is reformed). she is really such a lovely lady - even though we've only met with her once, she immediately put me at ease (i am the non-jewish half!) and when i read some of the ceremonies she has done i was sold! her website is:
