Racism on LI

this is the first thing i read this morning and i told DW. im not worried too much for my kids but its just stupidity how crap like this goes on. i just hope 1 my lifetime or anylifetime, there will be no hate just because of color.

and the person the said 'nerg.. umm, african american, who talks like that. i'd like to find there address and do damage to thier lives and see how they like it.

Unfortunately there is hate because of color, I hope your children will not be subjected to that. There is such ignorance in this world. I live in the south and to be honest, I think LI is worse than where I live....crazy right?

Not crazy at all. I am from the south and NEVER felt racism as strongly in Virginia as I do in NY. I posted about one such incident during our catering hall search and was bascially attacked by LIW brides/grooms for even suggesting the idea of racism.

The world is a sick place...it getting better very slowly...

just for example, wife and I just from walking around at stores or whatever, use to get looks and a couple of times, even comments to me like, 'what, you can't find a black one' or 'your not really black' I was gonna come back and say stuff but that is just being a stereotype (even though it was true), i was the better person.

but i've dealt with it all my life growning up in a town, 97% white... so at the end, i'm really ok with it. Heck, i still married wifey knowing that her parents would never be there. I have never met them and not planing on meeting them ever and its been 7+ years already..

silly racist ppl.. i'll probally better now and later then what you would ever be in your life,
ignorant people who have no respect for human quality of life... but hey, its not gonna change so whatever...

It amazes me that people are still so focused on outward appearances, and how others live their life. At the end of the day you are a much happier person, content to know that you & DW share a great love, while 'they' will be miserable and will continue to look for misery around them

I didnt hear that.

I heard they marched through my town in Idaho, but I never saw them.

Its amazing to me that some people still think they are better than others based on colors of skin or religion etc. Just SICK!
