Rain all over my parade why don't you...

Ok...i love my mom. Really I do. She is great but you know how some people just ahve the ability to rain all over your parade without 'saying anything' at all? Hence the fact I ordered new ty cards...JUST FOR HER and HER relatives because when I showed her the ones I had done she did the lip smile that doesn't reach the eyes as she said. 'Very nice...but you aren't facing forward....' long pause, more lip smiles, commentary from my aunt on how clever they were and then mom again, 'Peopel sorta expect you to look forward don't they? But I geuss this is how people do it nowadays...' More pauses and then subject change.

Ok so i know I should have said SCREW it and kept my cards but unfortunately I know it wouldnt end at cards-would begin an issue about myself and how i don't think things through or follow tradition or take other people into account ect etc. So I just sent the other cards out to my dads fam and our friends and the new ones will go to her fam and her. -sighs- So retarded. Oh well. families are the ties that bind...and GAG!

Ugh!! So annoying that you had to get new cards...but if it will save a fight or strife with your Mom, then it's probably worth it. You're a better woman than me though...I wouldn't have changed a thing! Then again, I tend to do whatever the hell I want anyway!! I am sure the new cards are just as gorgeous as the others!!

aww, sorry you had to deal with that. both of the TY's were gorgeous though, so i think it worked out!!

LOL twinkle... Its one of those things that she means well. She just...never quite gets there if you know what I mean. Ever seen the movie, 'Because I said So?' or hell, 'the Ya-Ya Sisterhood?' Thats my mom-not divorced but that hovering, meddling but means well personality? thats her. I used to do whatever I wanted but lol maybe i am getting old ebcause I just prefer to avoid the headache-rather pay 20 bucks for new cards then to sit there and get a commentary on my entire life's fawk-ups stemming from the most recent one of ordering 'the wrong ype' of cards.

I love your first cards...but I totally know how moms can be...Either way, they are both gorgeous and you have such amazing pics to show for the day!!

I thought the original cards looked GREAT! But the new ones are great too! I love the colorized main photo. Remember, you can't please everyone 100% of the time, but you redid them so that's a happy 'compromise'.

Either way your TY's are beautiful!!! You did such a good job. I like the first one better though

Well sometimes you have to make other people happy. Send the ones you really love to your friends and the family can have the one your mom likes best.

I think that would be a good compromise.
