Welcome! I'm getting married in Westchester too I think it's a really creative idea. I'm just not sure if it would look a little gimmicky? Maybe there are pictures online somewhere of someone who has done it so you can get a visual of what it would look like.

Hi! My friends and I were just talking about this the other day! I think its a great idea! the only thing I would worry about would be finding 4 colors that you really like that look great together. Pastels would look great in the summer! Maybe for the GM you could do something subtle like black vests with thin pinstripes that match the colors of the dresses rather than all different colored vests. Have fun on the site! P.S. I saw your wedding date...we're getting married in the same weekend!!!

I like that idea!! Along the same lines, I went to a wedding last year where, at the rehearsal dinner, the bride made baskets for each of her bridesmaids...Every basket was made with items of a specific color...One bridesmaid had all red items, another one had all yellow items etc...The bride presented each bridesmaid with a rose of the color in their basket and read the meaning of each rose color...At the end of the presentations, she told the bridemaids that they would be carrying the color rose that was given to them, so the day of the wedding, they all carried different color rose bouquets, like a rainbow and it was beautiful!!!

One of my BM's cousin did that for her wedding in Hawaii. It looked nice in that setting, with a waterfall and all tropical. I'm not sure how it would tranlate to a contigueous state though.

My FI and I were concerned about how the photographs will come out as well. Like years later would we still feel it was a good idea?

My sister had a rainbow wedding last year and to my suprise it looked amazing. We all wore the same dress and they were all different colors in saturated colors. The colors were: aqua, tiffany box green, lavendar, yellow, and pink....

A friend of a friend did something similar. She had all the girls wear black and each had a different color shawl since it was a late fall wedding. It looked really good.

This is what my mom had at her wedding! i think it was pretty common in the 70's! Rather than a new idea, i think it's really a throwback, but it's still great. Jusrt make sure it's not TOO rainbow-y and you stick with similar colors, like pink lavendar, blue or blue, green, yellow, not like, lavendar green and orange or something...look at the colors together before you do it. But it would really be uniqgue because almsot no one does this

I love the idea as long as all the colors go together It will be fun and all the girls can pick their own color. What color flowers would you do?

I was originally planning on doing this with all pastel colors - but once I found the BM dress that we all liked - the color palette stunk!
The individual colors were nice - but in no way would have gone together or complimented each other - it was really upsetting for me because I really had planned on doing it all along - even knew who would wear what color - but in the end - i chose the dress

thats very nice I think thats a good idea rainbow/pastel colors. it should be what you want and if thats what you like for your girls go for it!

I am doing something similar to that. I have 2 bridesmaids and one maid of honor. They are all going to be wearing a warm summer color! I cant wait!

My cousin had it in the 80s. She did pastels, pink, yellow, blue and I think green. The pale colors looked nice, but I am not sure how it would look with more vibrant colors. It is different and would be a nice change from what everyone else does.

i think the rainbow idea is great- as long as they all compliment each other nicely AND... i also think they should all have the same style dress but in different colors. i think having different dresses AND different colors would be too many differences and would be too distracting to look at.
but if the colors compliment each other and the style dress is the same, i think it would look great have fun!!
