What do you think a GOOD raise is.... What do you think a good promotion is? People say that as far as raises go 5% is good... I feel like that is not so much. What are your thoughts???

5% is always said to be a good raise. I dont totally agree, but it also depends on if you receive bonuses or tution reimbursement.

3-4% is the cost of living increase, so I think going with 5% (which is a bit above the cost of living increase) is ok.

Thanks guys. Im in a media position..and they are known to be very lowwww salary. I started at my company right out of college w/ an entry level position. Three and a half years later I am making 10k more than I was when I started and just had my yearly review. I know I am being promoted... just dont know what raise they will offer. My regular raise for staying in my current position would be 2k.. so im hoping for more. Wish me luck!!
