If no one responds does that mean you don't know what to do either?

I have a friend like this. I almost was tempted to end the friendship, but we have a great time when we get together and hang out. My mom just said to me she probably isn't going to change, so either decide if your friendship is worth it to put up with that, or end it. In my case she is also a great friend when things aren't going my way--I think my friend is more jealous when I am happy. When DH and I broke up for a while (long before getting engaged), she called every night, took me out, etc. So remember the good reasons about why she is a close friend of yours. GL!

I can't be friends with someone who is simply a dumper and will not show enough respect back to be a good listener when I need someone to talk to.

I've got enough krap going on in my life, I don't need someone who only uses me to unload their burdens on.

Well, I recently dumped a friend for different reasons, but I feel a helluva lot better for it! I do, however, have a friend who is very similar. I have known her for 16 years, so my decision about her was just to take her for what she's worth. Knowing that I cannot count on her to care what's going on in my life leaves me to be free to not care what's going on in hers. This way, when we do get together, it's simply for the fun of it. The friendship has just changed. It's for the best. Don't know if that helps, but I say take her for what she's worth.
