random centerpiece question

I feel silly for asking this...lol

For those of you with high centerpieces and your florist is providing the vases, what happens to the flowers at the end of the night?

I feel silly paying all this money for centerpiece flowers and it going to waste. Since guests can't take the vase, i'm not sure what to do.

random centerpiece question

If your flowers are sitting in some type of basket on the top, people might take them home. If the flowers are bunched together in the vase, I'm pretty sure they would get thrown out since the florist has to come back for the vases.

random centerpiece question

I would imagine guests could take them home? As long as the bowl isn't some expensive glass bowl. I've been to weddings where the MC made a game out of who took the flowers home. People love taking home centerpieces lol To be sure, you could always double check with your florist.

The flowers were sitting in a plastic holder on top of the vase and someone from the table took them home at the end of the party. The florist came back to pick up their vase's later that night.

I would ASK your florist. you don't want people taking things you're going to have to pay for.

Thanks everyone. I will ask my florist. I might just buy vases for the tables if I have to. I don't want the flowers to go to waste.

random centerpiece question

I think people generally know that they cant take the vase itself but who knows!?!!? I am thinking of having the people at the tables number off at the end and then the MC can announce a number, mention to not take the frickin' vase,LOL, and the winner can either take it or give it to someone else at the table. The last thing you want is people fighting over the centerpieces at the end of the night! LOL

random centerpiece question

If you have a tall centerpiece the flowers are in a plastic bowl at the top of the vase that comes right off. The guests take that and the vases stay so the florist can pick it up. Just make sure you have the DJ announce to leave the vase.
