RANDOM HONEYMOON QUESTION..HELP

So I am afraid to fly :(
I am wondering if there is anyone else on here that is araid to fly and looking into alternative options. I was thinking about doing a cruise out of cape liberty, NJ. There aren't any cruises around our date that leave out of NY. Does anyone have any advice or feel the same way????

ROAD TRIP!

with gas prices though its a little tough and id hate to get stuck in traffic on my honeymoon.

p.s. flying isnt so bad. i never liked to fly but learned to love it bc its the quickest way to get anywhere!

Weird enough, i have thought about doing a cross country trip. The problem is FH has already done that and i think he is more interested in relaxing. I have flown all my life for business or pleasure and i have begun to dread it. I think it will ruin the honeymoon if i do it :( He doesnt understand cause he is military and sits on the floor of planes. I just dont want to take a cruise for 9 days and thats it :(
The other choice is to work a week after the wedding and then go on a cruise out of NY. There are plenty that are a week later. ugh

lol, that doesn't help much.

have you checked norwegian cruise line? We took a cruise out of ny to fl and the bahamas, and I thought they went out of there pretty much all year long.

hahah thats totally true. There is one cruise out of NJ that would work. I was thinking maybe if we did a suite I would be happy. I just feel like I am ruining his honeymoon by not flying but I guess the point is being together. It's just hard because it seems so easy to just fly but my last experience (May), I spent the entire plane ride throwing up and hysterical crying. I cant do that to myself because i was a spectical and i am never like that. I guess i should just deal with the cruise and move on. Where are you girls going?

You could always take a sleeping pill before you got on the plane.

If not, you can take a train somewhere--maybe even to Florida and then go on a cruise from there.

There are LOTS of options for you though, so dont worry and def dont feel alone--flying CAN be scary.

You can take also the fancy Amtrak to Baltimore and take off from there, or to Florida and take off from there on a cruise. The sleeper, with the dinners, etc.

have you checked if the crown princess is sailing around that time...it leaves out of red hook brooklyn and its an amazing ship...I got engaged on that ship 2 years ago and the excursions are: puerto rico, turks and caicos, bermuda and st. thomas

i definitely know there is one in june that leaves

A few yrs ago we took an 8 day cruise that left from NJ and went to Bermuda, we were in Bermuda for 5 days which was great...it's a beautiful honeymoon spot.

How about driving to Florida? You can stop in NC or SC, there are beaches there also, that would be fun.

I absolutely hate to fly but I can handle a few hrs so we decided on Aruba....but the thought of having to get on a plane next year makes me sick to my stomach.

FH and I actually went to PR this summer to see if I could handle flying without it ruining my HM lolz..I was soooo scared to fly but I ended up loving it!!! I read your reply though and it doesn't look like thats going to be the case for you!!

FH proposed on a Cruise and it was AMAZINGG!! We're really considering it for our honeymoon...we had so much fun and it was REALLY romantic! Keep looking and call a travel agent to get all the dates...did you try sides like Cruiseone.com and Cruisesonly.com?

I drink tons of booze to help relax on the plane. Seriously. I am the world WORST flyer. Once, we went through turbulance and I grabbed a stangers hand. But, you could always do a cruise that leaves out of Jersey or even take the train to Fla and then hop on a cruise from there. Or, road trip it to Florida or Myrtle Beach and cruise it. There are plenty of options that you could choose from. Good luck and let us know what you end up choosing.

Could you wait a week??? Princess offers a cruise out of Brooklyn on June 2. It is a 9 day cruise and it stop at 4 ports in the Caribbean. I definitely recommend it...I have been on this cruise 2 years in a row. Its an amazing vacation, and soooo convenient!!!
