Random question...

Can you dedicate your marriage ceremony to the memory of someone else? Someone told me they are doing this to honor their late father and I'd never heard of this ebfore.

I've never heard of this either but I just found this online:

'We dedicate this day to honor both our parents, Carol and Jason, and Laura and Earl. With both sets of parents being married for 20 years each, we can only hope that our marriage is filled with the love, joy and happiness that has lasted throughout theirs.'

I think it is a nice idea.

In my ceremony I am including the following in the Preamble:

“It is Nicole and Joseph’s wish that as we get started today you all join with them in a moment to remember Joseph’s Father Jim and Nicole’s Mother Christine.

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,
I think of you in silence I often speak your name
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.

May they know that they are loved, and remembered always.”
