Random question, but i'm sure it applies to many...

Original post by FuTuRe MrS MaZz

My mom just informed me that the guestlist is on the rise b/c of my great grandmothers family who I'm positive I've never met has to come. And they will fill up a table on their own...

So here's my question... If I never met these people before in my life, how do I do the whole meet n greet thing with them? What do you plan on doing for situations like this?

i have the same problem......except the people I don't know are FH's BROTHERS!! how freakin sad is that? my family is super close but his is not. his brothers live in three different states and in 2 years I haven't even met them.

GRRR so annoying!

I don't have a situation like this... we are doing immediate family and close friends only....FHs mom wanted to invite her aunts and uncles and I had to say no.... we had the advantage that our RH only holds 114 people and I gave the excuse that it would not be fair to have her relatives if my dad couldn't invite his because of limited space... but maybe have your mom or someone near you to introduce... or just have them introduce themselves.... I am sure they understand because they haven't met you either....

It's strange to think that people who neither you or FH know are going to be at your wedding.

Just smile, say thanks for coming, etc., etc. You don't have to worry about doing a long conversation because they'll be so many people there and who knows - they may actually feel strange about it too and some may not RSVP yes.

I just got invited to my my mother's cousins' step-daughter's wedding and didn't go because I met the girl exactly twice and wouldn't know her if I ran over her in my car. I politely RSVP-d 'no' and sent a nice gift.

I would say Hi nice to meet you and thank you for coming. Simple and polite
