Random question.. (way out there) would you? or wouldn't you?

Just reading how the Cassini spacecraft will getting close enough to Saturn to be pulled in by it’s gravity after a 7 year journey. And I started thinking…..

Would you ever volunteer to be on a ‘outbound flight’ to another planet?

Assuming the planet is safe to go to and such. No problems with flight, etc. I guess it’s like asking would you take a 10 year voyage to a new land??

HELL YES!!

I can imagine. 10 years not being in any direct contact with Earth and it's messes. I'd love to just get away and become part of some other unification of people who aren't defined by 'homeland' since NO ONE there would be a 'native'. I'd love a chance to see Humanity start over, with lessons learned. It wouldnt be perfect, but I'd be willing to give it a try. 10 years without earth, yep. I could handle that.

Oh and I'd bring Jim.

The rest of the family... nah. It's up to them to make their own choices. Sucks I'd be gone while they died and not be able to see my father's funeral, but to embark on a journey like that...? that would be the ultimate tribute to my father.

Hypothetically speaking of course!
(oh and I'd like to bring our cat.)

I dunno, I can barely handle the flight to London....

Maybe if I could be beameed up......I do not like th though of the actual travelling....

only for money, I like earth and it's messes....each mess helps us learn another lesson...I would be bored with the same people for ten years ( assuming not to many would be able to go at once)

Well I don't know.. I figure I've never been around any one set of people for 10 years.. HAHA wouldnt know if i'd get bored. Never even went to school with the same folks for 10 years.
