Randy Johnson

This is what I was talking about.

This whole thing with him and the cameraman is exactly what I meant when I said he was not good enough to be a Yankee.

He is already an embarrassment to the team and he hasn't even played for us yet! I don't care how many games he wins, he's dirt, and I will NEVER EVER CHEER FOR HIM!!!!!!!!

He's another Giambi.

Thank G-d Tino's back, or else I'd lose all faith.

Took the words out of my mouth, Rachel. We might be the only 2 Yankee fans that weren't happy about the Johnson thing even BEFORE this latest turn of events.

This is why I have decided to take a small step back from the Yanks this year. I am not turning my back on them, but I cannot get myself quite as emotionally invested as I normally do.

I will always be a fan, its in my blood. I will always root for them and I will always love them - but I'm SO not psyched for this season They pushed Clemens , A-Rod and Giambi on me. This is like the straw breaking my back

I told my FW the same thing. He is gonna get so OWNED in NY. A total waste of 16mil a year IMO.

Especially considering they are giving him 16 mil for 3 years total... he will be getting paid 16mil when he is 44 years old! W-T-F!

No wonder he got along so well with Schilling.

Felicia, I agree with you 100%.

DJPill, for once, we agree on something.

I have several 'hillbillies' in my family (no, I'm not joking) and 'hillbillies' are very nice and respectful people. Randy Johnson is an a$$hole, not a hillbilly.

Just like any 'group' of people, there are good ones and A$$hole ones.

There are some lovely hillbillies, and I'm sure you're related to a bunch of them.

Johnson, however, is an arrogant turkey who does not belong on the Yankees.

Gobble Gobble, Happy Thanksgiving.

if he wins games, then great. of course I will be happy to WIN. Winning is the important part, but that doesn't mean i have to like him.

I didn't like Clemens either but I was happy when he pitched well for the Yankees.

Do you like Pedro?

Re: Randy Johnson

nope, but if he wins games for the mets and brings them up from the basement, you'll see me with a pedro jersey, my hair in jeri-curls and my own midget

I actually like Pedro. I love his attitude.

I am sure if we had Pedro pitching a few years back... he would have hit the target instead of blowing it right behind Clemens's back like Estes did. LOL

Re: Randy Johnson

It takes a bit more than winning a few games to change the way I feel about someone/something.

Johnson is an excellent pitcher, he throws well.

For the TEN MILLIONTH TIME, I Do Not Care.

You have to have a certain demeanor, personality, to be a Yankee. Clemens didn't have it - I didn't like him. Giambi didn't have it - don't like him either.

IMO it takes more than raw talent to be a Yankee.

ETA: Why do you think we all love Tino, even though he's declining? Donnie Baseball (The REAL ONE), even though he's cursed?

Re: Randy Johnson

Rachel - you always say it better than I do. You are right.

Johnson winning games and him having all the talent in the world doesnt make up for a bad attitude or a holier-than-thou demeanor.. esp. in a game where it is truly about TEAMMANSHIP.

This is why I swore I was so not having this conversation today......

I'm done.
