That's BS... since she went shopping on her own she can find the best price on her own!
But at least she found a dress... my FMIL still doesn't have one yet... I don't even know if she's really looked yet...

Re: FMIL Rant
okay - first off - i'm sorry, but now that you vented - what are you going to do?
my suggestion - give her some websites and let her do the work....tell her you are just too busy to have the time to do it....
or - suck it up and do it for her....a small price to pay to shut her mouth!
not an easy decision either way you slice it!

Agreed 100%... I lose either way. If I don't do it she will B****out my FH and if I do then she is walking all over me. Nothings worse then listening to your FMIL complain. I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboards.
I hear you LOUD & CLEAR....
we came to the realization that his parents had an issue with us living together before marriage.
Once we were married, things have changed DRAMATICALLY with his mom & me....they're actually nice and i don't consider seeing her as much torture as i used to...

Re: FMIL Rant
OMG - i'm sorry!!!
Thankfully - Dave's sister has two kids - so we don't have that pressure from her. My mom on the other hand....she hasn't said much TO me - but she has to others....
The only way we could equate the change was the living together thing...but also - we lived together for 5 years before we got married...it's not like we were together for a minute...but whatev...it's dealable now...(for the time being - though tomorrow, it could start to suck again, she's kinda nutty)....

Re: FMIL Rant
I would tell her that you have enough on you right now, that she'll have to do the research. Since she has the maker/style info she should just search for it online.
I feel your pain ....... FH's Mom wanted all the details on what my Mom was wearing, what dresses the BM's were wearing (styles/colors, ect). I invited her to come along to the bridal salon I used when my girls were getting measured and picking their gowns, and my Mom and Nana were looking that day also. Her response was 'I'm not interested.' That made me really p'od

I wouldn't be too upset that she didn't bring you along for the shopping trip, but I don't think its right for her to ask you to hunt for a lower price for her.

Rant away ! do not shop around for her - if she can shop by herself she can shop around by herself -you simply do not have the time to shop around for her dress.

Re: FMIL Rant
I was scheduled to go with my FMIL and FSIL to find her gown but I had to work that day, I asked if we can reschedule it but they didn't...I was a little upset because I wanted to be there to 'bond'. Then I got over it...she found a dress she loved and thats all that mattered.
In your case, I would kindly say that you are very busy at this time and you feel the best thing is to buy it from that store. Why doesn't FH sister do it?

Re: FMIL Rant
Sorry that your fmil did that- I would tell her you dont have time to look for a price for her and direct her to one of the online dress website (houseofbrides.com or the others) and tell her to start there
