So, I just checked my credit card statement, and Newport News finally decided to give me back my money. Great. Except that it was LESS than I should have received back.
So Easter or not, I'm pissed, so I called up customer service and demanded to know what caused the discrepancy. As far as I was informed, I would be docked the 6.95 for the return shipping label, but I was docked more than that. It turns out that they also do not refund the original shipping and handling, which is standard practice, but they ALSO tax the original shipping and handling as well as the return shipping, and dock you for the tax as well! Is that accepted procedure? I've never had that done to me before, and I return a ton of things online.
Luckily I used a free shipping promo code, so I was only taxed on the 1.95 handling and the 6.95 return shipping, but I am really furious right now. I am never shopping from Newport News again! In addition to their creppy product, they have creppy policy as well.![]()
