rant about fh's boss

rant about fh's boss

ok so it's less than a month to the wedding and drama galore...

fh's boss recently separated from his wife. they had eloped, have been together for about 2 years and recently discovered that she is unable to have children. he says that they're not working out though because she's too even-keeled and they're incompatible etc etc.. he basically moves out the next day, sets himself up in a new apartment and buys all new furniture in a week and was planning on throwing a huge housewarming in less than a month. heartless?

so last week, fh's boss sends me a really pretentious email about how he's going to put together the bachelor party for fh and says that he trusts that i'll be ok with that. it wasn't really a question that he was asking me - just a statement. his boss goes on to say that he's asked fh but fh has been evasive about it. duh? nevermind that fh has a best man~

fh obviously feels really sorry for his boss but the guy obviously has coping problems! he basically invited himself into the bridal party and has already told fh that he wants to throw fh a 'proper bachelor party.' something that neither of us want. even worse is fh's boss keeps pushing fh's buttons about 'it's his wedding and he should have a party etc etc...' i'm so angry that i don't even want to see this guy's face at the wedding now!!!! argh!!!!

that guys sounds really annoying! Can your FH just tell him something like 'thanks for your enthusiasm and offer, but my best man has it covered!'

That's too funny I was totally thinking that when I was reading her comment.

Wow he sounds really intrusive in you and your FH's life. I can't imagine having a boss like that. My relationship with my boss is more on the Hi, Bye, How was your weekend kind of level.

Re: rant about fh's boss

i think the problem is their office is just really small. before, they had like 4 guys and 1 girl but last week the last girl left so now it's an office of 4 guys. it seems like they don't do any work but talk about fh's bachelor's party too.

fh feels bad for his boss and he also thinks that his boss was horsing around but didn't mean ill. that to him trumps my feeling like his boss was just plain rude. in an office that small, i think he finds it difficult to say something more direct... argh~

Geeez.........it's so hard to deal with pushy people. I would just tell him thanks but no thanks.

its your FH's job to stand up to the boss and just say plain & simple, 'Thanks, but no thanks. My best man is covering it--and when he does everything we'll let you know the plans and you're more than welcome to come.'

that's it....the guy can be pushy all he wants but if your FH pussyfoots around the issue and isn't being straight up---this guy will keep at it. he has to be able to just say it and be done with it all!

I would have your fh tell him that it is really important to his best man to plan the bachelor party and he would be really disappointed if someone else did it !!
