RANT: Bride's Maid dress

Is anyone else not loving any bride's maid dresses? I am not seeing any that i really really like. I have skinny minnies in my bridal party and girls who are not so skinny minnie. So I have to find something that will fit a wide range of people. Either way, I havent found a dress that I think is great.

I'm looking into the dress you can tie in all different ways. I'm hoping it will work for all 3 of my girls, since none of them have the same body type.

I struggled with this and ultimately found dresses at Bridal elegance. They have a huge selection. Def check them out.

Are you talking about 2 birds...i think its called. I know someone who is getting these dresses and i looked at them. I do not know if you thought about this (if this is the dress you are talking about) that it doesnt look like you can wear a bra with the dress. If you look closely at the dresses on the website, all of the girls boobs look sloopy.

Yea, my two BM's have very little on top, so for them it wouldn't matter. My MOH is huge on top so I'd be looking into something different for her. I looked at 2 birds, but Dessy also does one. I wasn't crazy about the color for the 2 birds one.

My 3 girls are all vastly different in size and height, so we're looking more at regular dresses vs. the styles for 'bridesmaids'

i was worried about this too - but im letting the girls pick their own dresses. im choosing alfred angelo, long satin in both victorian lilac (maid of honor) and eggplant (bridesmaids). especially since they have to buy them - at least it will (hopefully) be something they like.

I am going with Bari jay, style 111. The dress has a chiffon overlay that hides any belly, and seems to look flattering on everyone (my girls range from size 2 through 20). Perhaps something like this would be good for your girls? They can also add straps if need be...

Pick something with rouching. I have very skinny girls and then not so skinny girls and I went with Mori Lee style 284 bc it has lots of rouching and Mori Lee does not charge extra for larger sizes like most designers do. Also Bridal Elegance in Huntington has great prices. I saw my BM dress there for $25 less than I was being charged. Luckily for me and my girls the place we ordered it from matched the price!!

How about picking the designer and color and let each girl pick their own style dress.

The dress I chose for my girls looked good on everyone. I had girls of all different sizes. It wasn't my favorite dress out of all BM dresses, but it looked really good on all of my girls, and definitely went well with my 'Traditional' theme. It's a popular style too.

Bill Levkoff #454
