I am not sure if anybody can relate but why do FH friends (both single & married) ask him to go out on the weekends (without me). I am not trying to be a control freak or possesive but we rarely see each other during the week & look forward to seeing him on the weekends. They all know that. He is they type that never says no. He feels obligated to hang with the guys from work. Says he is 'networking'.
We had a little bit of fight but made up. I know he has a mind of his own, but his friends don't seem to understand we are trying to plan a wedding. Also, trying to save money to buy a house. His friends are still stuck on the bar scene..
Please tell me i am not being a psycho

Re: RANT - FH Friends
Oh you and I need to go out for Coffee!!!! DH is the same way!! He works two full time jobs, and likes to spend his weekends catching up with OOT friends in either CT or NJ. When he isn't with them on the weekends he is always working on his business. I don't think you are psycho you like to spend time with your man! This is the way I look at it and I hope that it helps. You trust your FH (which is more than some other women do). As much as it kills you to watch him spend so much time with his friends, you are a confident lady who can hold your own. Spend that time going shopping (even if it is just window shopping), hanging out with old girlfriends, or spend time with family. Then 2 weekends a month plan something ahead of time so you can spend the whole weekend together (even if it is as simple as a low budget picnic, and a trip to the beach). There are so many things you can do while you are planning a wedding.

I can see why you might be annoyed that you don't get time with him on weekends, but I don't think it's really fair to expect him to not hang out with his friends, and not have 'guy time.'
I'm a firm believer that if you're going to have a healthy relationship/marriage, you each need to be able to have your own time for your own things and your own friends, as well as time for each other - and both things are equally important.

its not that we don't spend any time together. i was just hurt that after working 12 hr days all week...his priority is going to dinner with 'the guys' from work. I was trying to hide my feelings but unfortunately i was not too successful.

Re: RANT - FH Friends
My FH and I have had a rule since we were dating. We spend one night of the weekend together (Friday or Saturday) and the other night he has a guys night and I have a girls night. Sundays we always spend together. That way, our friends dont feel neglected and we still get a little bit of independence. Also, the night that we are away from each other, I look forward to coming home at the end of the night and seeing him and telling him all about my night!

Fh and I do this too...
As for the 'networking' line that your FH gives you, well, it really struck a chord with me...when FH and I were first dating he used to say tis too...I hated it...so annoying and such BULLSH!T!! He wants to go out with the boys...so be it...but don't call it networking! I feel you...
