RANT-FLAIR!

I went to Flair in the SB village to look for a dress.
I had high hopes of this place. They did have very pretty dresses... BUT.

The sales girl asked me what I was looking for and I said... 'A dress for my E-Party'. So she runs in the back and brings out a few dresses and says..... We JUST got these in, thats why they are not out on the racks.

So I'm looking at the dresses and I saw a Badgley Mischka dress that was absolutely gorgeous.
BUT..... It was a dark purple and had black velvet all over it (see pic). So I said... wow this dress is beautiful but I don't think its right for a party in July with the velvet. She turns to me and says 'Velvet is soooo hot right now, we just got this in'.

Now.... I'm no A-hole when it comes to fashion.

So she runs to the back again to get more 'new' dresses and while she is there I looked at the price tag.... It was marked down 30%.
CLEARLY its NOT a new dress.

At this point I was sooooo mad I walked out.
So while I was searching online for dresses I found the one in the store (see pic)

Its obvi that its last season.
The more I think about this the more I get mad.

I would NEVER push someone to buy something from last season saying its new. Especially that its velvet....

Sorry about the rant but I'm P I S S E D!
I'm never going back there. Its like they would rather make the sale instead of really helping the customer.

your story totally reminds of the scene from Legally Blonde when they she goes to find the perfect dress because she thinks shes getting engaged that night!!

I would be super pissed too !!

ha! I totally new you were goign to say it wa last season! I knew it the minute you wrote velvet! That is UNREAL! Im suprised she wasnt smart enough to pull the tag! DUH! At least your smart enough to know better! GOOD GIRL!

Ok, I think this was a rant about me. But when I came in to see what this was about, I was relieved. LOL. Def a true Legally Blond moment. I can't believe how ballsy these salespeople are! I mean, velvet? Hot in summer?????? Who the F wears VELVET when it's 80 degrees out????????

I think she was trying to push it off as right now meaning the new Fall/Winter collection since thats what they are putting out now. Perhaps? I hope she didnt mean the summer! lol

I think thats what she was trying to do...which is fine but as soon as she said that velvet is soo hot right now.... I was done! LOL
Oh and I did tell her the date of the party before she took out the dresses.

I wandered off the 08 board and found this, your post reminds me so much of the scene in legally blond when the sales girl was trying to sell her last years dress at this years price and lied about the material

Exactly... and if I saw something I liked I fully intended to purchase there. But now I'll never go back.
