Rant: Reception sites

We want to have this set ASAP, and I just hung up with my 3rd site that was like well you have so much time why are you planning now for 2008?


Uggh, b/c I want to get the date I want at the place I want

No one ever said that to me at any of the places I went too. They were all suprised and had slightly shocked looks on their faces but they all had books with the 2008 dates and they were impressed that I was getting things done already, I'm suprised places have been telling you that! Don't give up...keep on truckin'!

whatever halls are acting like that...i would stay away from them!!! that shows that they have no confidence in themselves to book you for 2008. FH and i walked into our hall exactly 2 yrs. to the day of our wedding, and the banquet manager was AWESOME. (he already had a bunch of 07 weddings booked). when we said we felt so weird talking about a hall 2 yrs. ahead of time (since we need to know how much to save and time to pay it), he told us how these days, because of the costs, a lot of couples book 2-3 yrs. before the big day..and then proceded to show us that he had some dates for 2008 already. we told him we'd think about it, since we wanted to visit one more place, and within a week he followed thru with us, and even let us know that he had booked a 2 wknds of our month, and was giving us a heads up so we wouldn't lose our date. it worked out great for us.

so to heck with those halls who are being ridiculous! find one that will treat you with respect and understand that you need time to plan and pay!!!

you will get that alot-if they blow you off then that is not 'the one' but every vendor you go to will say oh you have plenty of time-

simply tell them that you want to get everything in order-they have no right to question why you are booking so early
