RANT, UGH!

RANT, UGH!

FH and I can't find a first dance song to save our lives. We both love 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri.

Why, WHY does this have to be from Twilight?! Why did they have to destroy this song by having it be associated with that stupid movie??

Ughhhh if it wasn't known for that, we'd have picked that song in a heartbeat.

Rant over. Seriously, though, so frustrating.

The song fh and I are using is also on the twilight soundtrack. It's the forgotten by green day and we aren't letting that stop us.

Totally understand, it's green day! I'm afraid this song was actually written for twilight. It's offical music video is all twilight scenes. It's just too much.

I love a thousand years too but I had the same thought. I was afraid it would come on and everyone would go 'oh the twilight song' but honestly half the guests probably wouldn't even know and if you love it who cares....3 days later people won't even remember what you danced to.

Were using a thousand years part 2 listen to it, it's a duet with Christina Perri and some guy...I like it better

Do the song you want. I don't think people will be commenting that it was on the Twilight soundtrack. I didn't even know it was from there and I saw all of the movies! And even if they do, no one is going to remember.

the last like 4 weddings i've been to used that song so I'm so sick of it now! lol it's such a popular first dance choice... 'all of me' by john legend will probably replace it this year though

haha It's going to be our second dance too! I really wanted to use Taylor Dayne 'I'll Always Love you' even though it's super old but then we found out that it was FH's aunts first dance so he vetoed it! We're using 'Have I Told You Lately' Rod Stewart

Why pass on a beautiful song like that? I didn't even know it was from that movie and if you asked me to name one first dance at any of the many weddings I've been to, I couldn't do it. No one will say anything negative about it!

FH and I had the same conversation about that song. It will play at some point at the wedding, but we will not use it as our wedding song :)

I think only twilight fans will know and they will totally love that it is from that movie..I agree a lot of people will just think it is a really really pretty song!

Haha I LOVE THAT song!! Don't worry - it will come to you. You still have time! FH and I just picked our song about a week ago. We decided that if there was a song that reminded us of each other that we both loved, we'd use it. If not, we'd tell the DJ to surprise us

lmao. Sorry I'm so amused by your misery but I think it's hysterical that you don't want to use a particular song because it was in Twilight. I love that song and only just learned through this post that it was even from that godforsaken movie. (Sorry Twilight fans, don't mean to offend anybody. But even if the writing of the actual books weren't horrendous, Kristen Stewart is still a home-wrecking mouth-breather that makes the viewing of those films unbearable.)

Anyway...I say you use the song anyway, but if you are truly unable to stop picturing that i-can-only-make-one-face-for-every-emotion little hobag every time you hear it, here are my three favorites:

The 'Across the Universe' version on 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' -friggin beautiful

Adele's cover of 'Lovesong'

Adele's cover of Bob Dylan's 'Make You Feel My Love'
