RANT...my 2nd dress fitting (VERY LONG)

Okay, so far my entire wedding planning process (since December 2005) has been EXTREMELY smooth, too smooth though, eventually something was going to go horribly wrong. Well, that happened tonight at my 2nd dress fitting.

Rewind to 3 weeks ago when I went with my BM to get my dress fitted. We discussed the hem, the bustle and agreed on everything with the seamstress. My crinoline (which was supposed to be included with my dress) was cut to the right length, as was the tulle under my dress. The dress was hemmed and pinned in on the sides and the bustle was marked.

Now Fast forward to tonight when I get there the crinoline was GONE! I asked about it and they were like 'oh, there was no crinoline in there, & it's not on your receipt' I said that it was hand written that the crinoline stays with the dress and it was initialed by the owner. She comes to me saying that she would NEVER do such a thing. When they pulled the receipt out of my bag IT WAS A DIFFERENT RECEIPT!!! There was nothing written on it.

So okay they get me another crinoline (different then my original one) and I put on my dress and the hem is CROOKED by like 1/2 inch!!! I was soooooo annoyed by this time. Then...the bustle was wrong!! I wanted it to be pulled up from the center (I have a peek of embroidery work on the train) and then I wanted 2 buttons on the sides (kinda in the middle of no where) to hold it in place so the embroidery would be seen throughout the whole night. Well, they added 2 buttons, but they were right next to the line of buttons going down my back!!! FIne whatever.

The owner has NO customer service skills at all. she said to me 'I think you need to shut your mouth now and listen to me' Who does she think she is my MOTHER! It seemed like everything I said to this woman she had an answer for! Don't undermine me, I am the customer!!!!

I left tonight and didn't even make another appointment to get my dress. I am going to cool off and call next week. My BM had a HUGE problem there when she had her alterations done too.

I originally went to this place because the owners used to be in business with the David of David's bridal. They went their separate ways, and now they are a little rinky dink shop that does internet business and David's is this huge thing. I saw the same dress in David's as there, and it was cheaper there so we went. Now with all this craziness I think I should have just gone to David's ! ! ! FM me if you want the name of the place. I will say that it is a small little rinky dink shop in Baldwin, and it's NOT Lillette's.

Oh sweetie, I am so sorry. Do you have a copy of the receipt she wrote on? I would calm down, getr her to fix everything to your liking and get your dress.

Then give her a peice of your mind!!

WOW if anyone told me to shut my mouth like that I would of taken my fist to their face. I hope you can find what your receipt said this way you can throw it back in her face.

I guess some people just think they got your money so its time to treat you like poop! Sorry to hear this!!!

I feel your pain. I had MAJOR issues with my bridal salon. They were wonderful till the dresses came in. One bm dress was ordered 3 sizes too large and then they screwed the alterations so bad we had to take it somewhere else to fix it. Another the hems look aweful but the bm just gave up and a third bm the top is too tight but she will grin and bear it. My dress was ordered too small. Luckily I dropped a lot of weight (due to health issues not dieting) so my dress fit. I just want my girls to all pick up their dresses and then I am posting a full rant here.

I am so sorry to hear about this. The owner had no right to speak to you that way. You are the bride and you are giving this bridal shop business. The owner needs to take care of the situation.
