Rave about Bay Shore post office

If you live near there and are cocerned about getting your invites hand canceled go to the Bay Shore post office (on 5th ave). Without me even asking, the woman behind the counter told me to leave the invites with her and they would hand cancel them throughout the day.
When I mentioned that I heard some post offices give a hard time about hand canceling she said they always hand cancel wedding invites.

I second this....I also sent my invites thru them....and they were absolutely the BEST! The lady behind the counter was such a doll, her name was Fran!

I wish I lived in Bay Shore then! I am APPALLED by the guy at the Forest Hills post office. i got there at 1204 --apparently they closed at noon today and he wouldn't let me in! I'm pleading on the steps like please! They're my wedding invites and all I need is hand cancelling....he goes and I quote:

'Drop them in the mailbox!!!!!!' I'm like 'WHAT?!?!?!'

Ohh I'm so nervous about asking them to hand cancel mine! I'm sending my mom ( who doesn't take Sh** from anyone) to do my dirty work!

RAVE ABOUT FRANKLIN SQUARE POST OFFICE They took all 150 invites and hand cancelled no prob & weighed & reweighed for me to be exact. Just in case anyone is far from bay shore & not sure who will hand cancel all of them for you. They were great.

Thank you soooooo much! I live a couple of minutes away from there so I'll definitely use this post office now! Did you also buy your postage there? When I went to the bay shore post office on pentaquit they didn't have any wedding stamps :( I bought the ones for my response cards online but still have to get my inites weighed to see what the regular postage costs and was hoping to buy stamps at the post office and not have to order online and wait the addtional days to receive them in order to send my invites out. Thanks again!!!!
