rave-dye shoe and bra place
I am in Nassau but I bought my shoes somewhere in Suffolk figuring I''ll either bring it back there or find another place to get them dyed. Well since the place I bought them did not dye for free I decided to start looking around here. I went to one place who was so nice and honest. He was not comfortable dying my shoes ivory. the shades he had in his swatch book was nothing at all like my dress color and what was the point of dying them something else to be 'close' when my already white ones was 'close.'
Then I went to Estelles with a bridesmaid who was looking for shoes so I asked them and they recommended a bunch of places including Cherrywood shoe Repair in Wantagh -who was so amazing!Turns out my MOH's mom used them and they were great so I should have asked her before today but who knew it was so hard to dye shoes ivory?!
The guy working at Cherrywood agreed that it was hard to do ivory but that he was going to do it! He also sells shoes there. He took a shoe that he could have sold and used it to practice dying because i did not have an extra shoe test swatch (some shoes come with?)- I only had my dress swatch. He did so many different shades of ivory on his shoe and compared his shades to my swatch - he ended up covering a whole shoe and a 1/2 with shades to get the right shade and he finally made the perfect match!! I am so impressed with his efforts! They'll be ready on Thursday and i know it will be the right shade since the mix he finally figured out was in a bottle that he put my name on. It was $20. a bit more than some other places but worth it imo.
:)
YAY!!!!!!
my mom and I also got my bra today at Georgettes in Hicksville - I had a good experience but she was a bit insulting to my mom even though my mom said it was funny and the older lady working there was cute and knowledgeable about bras. it was a good price too i thought it would be more $$ :) happy.
