I don't have any kids on my side of the family, but FH has a niece and nephew.
His niece is going to be 4 next month, so will be 5 1/2 at time of the wedding which is perfect for a FG.
His nephew will only be about 2 years old (actually 22 months) at the time of the wedding. We'd love to include him as a RB, but is that too young? Or should he get down the aisle ok since he'll be walking with his sister and his parents will be standing up front (as a BM and GM)?

Re: RB/FG ages
I think they will either be SUPER cute, or just stand at the end of the aisle and cry!!
If it makes you feel better, I was recently at a wedding where the FG's were 2 1/2 year old twins. They marched down the aisle like champs...holding hands...so cute!!

Re: RB/FG ages
everyone in our families will be too old to be a RB or FG so we are not going to have them, but i might make my two younger cousins who will be 10 and 13 junior bridesmaids instead.

yeaa it's definitely mad cute to have them walking down the aisle...i am REAL worried that they will cry though...! my niece cried during my moms whole speech at our e party so that's making me real nervous that they will cry at the wedding!!

My cousin (Jenny8484's FH, haha) was my mom's RB when he was only 2! They were nervous about having someone so young but as in your situation the FG was a little older (she was only like 4 though) and she held his hand and they made it down the aisle! The pictures are really adorable. I say go for it if you think they'll make it down the aisle, and if he'll listen to the girl if she guides him there.

Re: RB/FG ages
You can never predict a child's reaction at a wedding. Even if they were 7 you couldn't be sure they'd feel comfortable going down the aisle. If those of the children you'd like to use, go for it.

my friends daughter is going to be our flowergirl. she'll be 3.5 at the time. My niece will be a little over 2, and if she can handle it, she will be a flowergirl also.

Re: RB/FG ages
I don't think I'll be having a RB & FG since I am having no children at my reception and the ceremony is at my hall.
I don't think it's fair to make anyone take the kids home before the reception.
And the possible RB & FG are not very well behaved children, just FYI.

Re: RB/FG ages
my cousin was a RB at 2 1/2 years old and they had to bribe him with a Bob the Builder toy and $20 to get him to walk down the aisle. (this was in 2003)
if you think the kid can handle it, do it, i think it would be cute.

I have 3 FGs..at the time of the wedding they will be 5,6,&7. They should hopefully do ok since they have each other for moral support!
