RC Church brides, readings help

First of all, if you are having a ceremony instead of a mass, do the readings still have to be one from the old and one from the new testament? And if they do, has anyone come across any that they really liked? Are the ones listed over and over in the pre cana books and on the wedding web sites the only ones appropriate for weddings, or has any one come across any that they like that are unique? I just started looking, and can't find any that we can relate to at all! Help, thanks!

I found a book called 'Your Catholic Wedding' that I really like...along with the typical readings, I found a few that I thought were really poetic and interesting. I will check the author and get back to you....

FYI: I found that the 'Together for Life' book puts the actual readings from the Bible into simpler terms...if you look up the real readings in the Bible, they are MUCH prettier.
