For what it's worth (and it's just my 2 cents) The Library is NOT the place you want to go for your rehearsal dinner, unless you plan on staying for 5 hours or so. I've never been there for less than 1.5 hours--and that's with an empty restaurant and only 2 people. When my co-workers and I go (about 10 people) it's 2 hours MINIMUM. With 40 people....you do the math. It's a fun 'after hours' place, but may not be the best place for a rd. Like I said, it's just my 2 cents, and you may all have had different experiences.

Nocello's in northport. I shopped around and got the best value there. I think I'm paying $30pp and that includes beer and wine. Plus there's live entertainment and it's a friday night. It's $5 cheaper on a thursday.

I agree. And the last time I was there the food was not terrific.

I second Nocello's and Singletons, but they are both far from each other. What area are you hoping to stay in?

Another good place is BK Sweeney's in Bethpage. I was at a shower there a few years ago & it was very nice. I liked the room they had us in.

ETA: I just checked your profile & see you'll be at Carlyle. I think Nocello might be kinda far especially if you have many OOT guests. I think either Singleton's or BK Sweeney's might be a good bet.

we actually don't have to worry about the carlyle because the rehearsal is the day of the wedding..we're doing the dinner the night before so it can be anywhere..thanks for the suggestions!

I have eaten a tthe Pomodorino in Williston Park (I think, or New Hyde Park? It's the one on Hillside...) the food was excellent and I would definitely go back again.

I had catered food at someone's house from Ciao Baby and it was great. All of my friends rave about the place.
