What are you girls doing for the RD in terms of alochol? FH and I are currently fighting over this. I think beer, wine and soda should be fine, but he wants full open bar, which we would have to pay for ourselves. And if you did do just beer, wine and soda, how did you let your guests know that it wasn't open bar without being super tacky?
TIA!

Re: RD drinks?
I'm not having any drinks I don't think bc it's going to be at my parents apt and they don't drink and aren't really cool about it in close quarters lol (obvy the wedding is a dif story)
BUT on the invites, you could write
Dinner Desert Beer, Wine, Soda
I don't know if that;s tacky or not, but it gets the message across without literally saying - hey this is what's available and nothing else. LOL. I dunno, hope this helps.

Re: RD drinks?
We are just doing beer, wine, and soda
They can have one bar at the wedding.....and if beer and wine isn't good enough, they can leave or go buy their own drink

Re: RD drinks?
Every RD i have been to has only been beer and wine. Most people don't want to drink a lot anyway b/s the wedding is usually the next day.

Re: RD drinks?
Your place might print menus? Did you pick specific menu for your RD?

Whatever is included. If they want drinks, they can purchase them on their own. I can't afford two days of open bar...

Re: RD drinks?
Thank you so much! I can't afford the open bar either, and since our bach parties are the night before, and the wedding is the night after, I am hoping that people won't mind. But FH insists that him and his friends are going to want to booze that night too (which is a point of contention all its own!)

Re: RD drinks?
we had an open bar but IL's were paying for the RD so that was their call. I think that if we were paying ourselves, to save on money I would have done just the wine, beer, soda.

Re: RD drinks?
I'd let the bartender take care of that. And ITA, I've personally never been to a full open bar RD. I think beer, wine and soda is just fine!

Re: RD drinks?
We did beer, wine and soda and told the restaurant that if anyone ordered a drink to just add it to our final bill. Everyone for the most part drank beers, but we had a couple mixed drinks and shots on the bill at the end of the night. This worked out perfectly for us. HTH!!

Re: RD drinks?
We got the beer wine and soda unlimited thrown in so we are keeping it at that. I think most people we are inviting are beer drinkers anyhow, but if someone wants a mixed drink we will just pay the extra for it.

Re: RD drinks?
we are doing beer wine and soda. We plan on having beer wine and soda. If someone wants something else they can go to the bar, but out RD is the night before the wedding so I don't expect ppl to go too crazy with alcohol.

why dont you tell the restaurant waiters when they come over to say 'the hosts are serving beer wine and soda with your meal today' - that's what we did for our e-party and anyone that wanted anything else just got up and went to the restaurant's bar and paid on their own
