Soooo I have asked FH numerous times to sit with his parents and figure out where to have our RD b/c June is a popular month.....it was taking forever.......so I looked into all of these places and was waiting to hear the verdict...
We decide on Anna Maria's find out it's closing- awesome (strike1)
So then we decide to check out Mongealos (sp???) in Huntington and they want 52 bucks PP and only give us a choice of chicken or pasta (***?!) (strike 2)
So then I said why don't we just book Smithtown Landing like I had said from the start- Matt calls and says ok go for it. So now I call (yes, me!) and they are FARKIN BOOKED NOW!!!!!!!!!! (strike 3)
So I try La Familigia- THEY ARE BOOKED (strike 4)
I'm GONNA FLIP OUT! To make matter worse I've just developed a sty in my eye and it's really painful! lol
Anyone else have a suggestion? cause I'm about to have it at a pizza shop!

Re: RD nightmare
We had our RD at Giardinos in Douglaston. They have two sized rooms for private parties and an awesome menu. They are worth checking out.
Edited to say that i have no clue about geography and dont know where it is that you are looking so not sure if my suggestion is helpful.

I looked at most of the same places as you and went with Pomodorino's. Did you try them?

Re: RD nightmare
What area are you looking for? It sounds like the North Shore of Suffolk, right? How far west/east are you willing to go?
Don't stress and put a luke warm wet tea bag on that eye!

Re: RD nightmare
UMMM...if you're looking to stay with in the smithtownish area....there are a couple of places
1) Garden Grill- Upstairs room holds about 40 people...very quaint type of place...good food....great price (I believe about 25 PP --w/o alcohol though)
2) Old Street Pub- Both bar food and regular meals...(steaks/chicken/fish/etc)....FH and I LOVE this place for a dinner...and there front room holds about 60ish...back holds about 30-40ish....we had my sister's bridal shower there and it was great!!
3) There is an Italian place on mainstreet (my sister's RD was there 2 years ago.....) I'm blanking on the name of it but it's something like Veinza or La Veinza...it's the old Marchellos....They have a room upstairs that holds about 40 people (little odd shaped, but worked out for us) Good food...decent pricing
4) Radio Grill- sometimes a biker bar...but actually really nice inside....They have a room that holds 60....Extensive Menu.... Bikers are usually only there on Tues/Wed nights.... Right passed the watermill on Terry Road
*** I think thats all of my ideas for now....good luck!!

Re: RD nightmare
we're not having a formal RD.. So I can't help there.. as for the stye.. boil an egg and put it in a paper towel- the heat makes it pop really fast- like a couple of minutes- and it's gone!! sorry if thats TMI- my retinologist told me to do it once.. it works!

Re: RD nightmare *UPDATE- FOUND A PLACE*
Thank you ladies!!!
I called Garden Grill while at work and went to see it tonight and booked on the spot!!!!!! Shane was THE NICEST guy EVER! It was 26pp w/ out beer & wine just coffee/tea/soda, your guests get to choose from garden salad or caesar salad then 6 entrees to choose (I don't remember them all....shell steak/chicken maidera/some fish/penne a la vodka....) then two desserts either chocolate mousse cake or apple crisp! We are going to do bottles of wine and pitchers of beer...as of right now we are thinking 3 red/3 white (25bucks a bottle) & 3 pitchers of beer (18 per pitcher)
I love this site! :-*

At the Garden Grill, is it a problem that people from the bar and restaurant have to come upstairs and walk through the party to use the bathrooms?
