We booked ours 3-4 months before the date but if you plan to book your RD for a Fri or Sat then I would even look a bit sooner

My FMIL booked ours a few weeks before the wedding. I wouldn't wait that long though

We just booked ours tonight for the Friday night before our wedding. We're 4 mos away.
Sooner is better than later, but you certainly have time.
