If we go to my salon for hair and makeup (which we might pending a trial in Feb), is it weird to say, 'Okay, as part of your gift, I'm paying for your hair, but you guys will have to pay for your makeup.'

Does that sound funny? What if they want to do their hair somewhere else? Do I make that a non-option because I'm paying for their hair?

I would offer it before hand, either via email, telephone, or in person. But I wouldn't do it on the spot in the salon. I'd also explain that they have the option to go elsewhere, but if they go to your salon, you'll pay.

Ok, so like a month or so before the wedding, I can let them know. What happens if they want to go to their own salon? Do i buy them something else since I'm not spending that money on them?

I would, or maybe get them a gift cert. to use for it? Like an Amex gift card or something? That way they can take it to their own place and use that to help pay for it?

i'm not sure i'd do it as part of the gift necessarily ... i'd tell the BMs that i'll pay for their hair fi they get it done at my salon ... but then give them a gift in addition to that anyhow (same size / price even if they don't get their hair done).

Smart! That's the best thing.

I am also getting them their DOJ and maybe one of those personalized wine glasses soontobecruz posted earlier. Still deciding though.
