RE: Nostalgic/Sad about no longer planning wedding?
Granted my wedding was last October so maybe my feelings are a little delayed, but please tell me the rest of you feel a little sad about not planning anything anymore?
In particular I look at pictures, etc and all i see are the things that i don''t like (like my hair, i explained that drama on my review for those who caught it) and it frustrates me like nothing else. I feel like i was so stressed at certain points (i was the first of my friends/ family to get married, big family, less than 1 year planning the wedding all were factors contributing to the stress) that i didn't enjoy myself as much as i should have or i wasn't selfish enough about my decisions since i was trying not to be bridezilla-ish
don't get me wrong, i did enjoy my wedding, i suppose i just wish i could go back and do it again knowing what i know now...
please tell me at least one of you feel like this as well?

I'm definitely WELL OVER the planning bit. Maybe I felt that way for a couple of weeks, but soon I had my life back and was completely happy it was over.
I do TOTALLY agree with looking back on somethings and being upset. Recently we rec'd our video and it just reminded us how horrible our DJ was...actually...worst than we thought...and how hiring a DOC was a complete and total waste of money because she didn't do what she was suppose to do that day...ugh...
I'm REALLY glad it's over.
I'm sorry you still feel this way. Check out on the Newlywed board...I know I saw a LOT of posts like this.

Yep I was like that too and at times still get a little sad (I had a ton of fun planning our wedding)...but now you get to enjoy life as a married couple and that's what it is all about right?
It is hard right since usuallly th ewedding is something you have been thinking about for a while and trying to get all the details exactly how you want them and then in a short period it's over....being on here sometimes helps and other times makes it worse especially if you end up noticing more what didn't go exactly how you wanted it on the day of.
HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RE: Nostalgic/Sad about no longer planning wedding?
I felt like this for a month or so after the wedding--it just seemed like I had all of this excitement and the planning to focus on, and all of a sudden, it was back to normal life.
This didn't last long though, perhaps because a family illness cropped up after my wedding and that took my focus off of the post-wedding blahs. Once that crisis was past, a job promotion came up for me that I felt I just had to try. The job has been extremely busy, and there are days I regret this decision (wish I had more time to spend with DH), but I think I would have regretted it more if I turned down the job. Over the past couple months we have begun to plan selling our co-op and buying a house and trying to have a baby.
I guess what I'm getting at is that being busy and having other things to focus on (positive or negative) brought me out of that sad, my wedding is over, feeling. I don't wish family illness on anyone, and job promotions aren't always dangling in front of you, but maybe find some ways to keep yourself busy. What were some things you wanted to do when you were in the midst of wedding planning that you did not have time to do? I know there were always things in the back of my mind that I wanted to be doing. There is also the work (and joy) of setting up a home and life with DH--even if you lived together for a long time before getting married, you may want to make some minor changes to your home.
