(Re-Post 07) Cruise..................

I just found out that Princess Cruise lines, who I'm using for part of my honeymoon allows smoking in their rooms, as do most of the other major cruise liners.

I'm a severe asthmatic and do not do well in enviroments where people have been smoking. I'm scared that I have to cancel my cruise now because I can't risk getting on a ship where they can't move my room if it stinks.

Princess assured me that they clean there rooms well, but I'm not sure if I can trust them.

Anyone have any experience with their room smelling of smoke??

Please help, I'm in a total panic now

well dont they have non-smoking rooms...i went on the crown princess and i am almost sure they had non-smoking rooms...Well most places are like that, they'll have smoking and non-smoking rooms...call them up and ask them.

I smoke though so cant help bc we smoked

I asked.....NO ONE has non-smoking rooms

I went on princess twice and never smelt any ciggarette smoke...nothing. How i think it basically works is that all the inside cabin rooms are either smoking or non-smoking ad you request what you want. All of the balcony rooms are all non-smoking (youre not allowed to smoke in the room) but you can smoke on the balcony. FH and i both hate ciggareete smoke and rest assure that you can not smell or feel it in the room at all. Princess or any other cruise line wouldnt be in business if their rooms stinked bad.

Are you able to bring a mini ionic air breeze purifier with you, they have real small ones now

I don't know... I didn't even tell the girl what ship we are on and she said there are no non-smoking rooms on their ship!! I'm just scared to get on the ship and find out that my room stinks and they can't move me....and then I'll be sick the whole week.

I also remember non-smoking rooms. Maybe it depends on the ship or itinerary you go on?

I think thats a good idea you should a bring an air purifier...even though they dont work all that great but its its definitly worth a try. Also get a balcony room if you can so you can leave the door open and have fresh air always coming into your room. Inside cabin rooms are so claustrophobic

Thanks..... you guys are making me feel so much better. We do have a balcony room. I figured I could always open the door.....I just don't want anything to go wrong on the honeymmon because I've had sooooo many things go wrong with the wedding

Thats great then since you have a balcony you wont have any problems at all with the room smelling. Just be optimistic and think positively and everything will go your way

I just was on Royal Caribbean and didn't have any problems with smoking other than in the bars...otherwise my room smelled fine, etc...

If you can't be around smoke, just stay away from the bars and casinos as you wont be in NY anymore where smoking in bars is illegal.
