Re-post from Honeymoon Board - Hawaii Hotels

Has anyone ever stayed at the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas in Kauai? I'm looking into it for my honeymoon. It's a resort choice on my mom's timeshare company cuz she's letting me use it. I also checked out tripadvisor which had a lot of good reviews. Anyone have any input?

Also, we are looking into Maui also. Either the Hyatt, Sheraton, or Westin. Any thoughts about those? We are looking for something that won't be too overcrowded with kids lol. Thanks!!

We used my SIL time share in Maui and we stayed in the Westin ocean resort villas in kaanaplai beach...it was beautiful. I highly recommend Westin, our room was like an apartment it had a separate bed room, living room, full kitchen, hot tub, balcony, they also have a bbq area by the pool so you can cook some steaks or whatever...

some pics....

When I was there in September the main Princeville hotel was just getting started with an epic renovation. The downside to this would be several of the main dining/going out options are not around. The north coast however is beautiful.......so I would say you may still have a great time. That area is a little bit of a senior citizens area, Hanalei has a younger vibe, and is not far away.
The supermarket in Princeville is super nice by the way.

I love Maui as well.....the 4 seasons is a good pick there. Maui has more dining, shopping, and nightlife options. Kauai is quiet but beautiful.

good to know! thanks! we cant decide if we wanna do the timeshare at princeville or a timeshare at the westin in maui. so we are either gonna do:

timeshare in princeville, kauai
and hotel in maui

or

westin timeshare in maui
and hotel in kauai.

fh says he wants to do the timeshare condo in kauai cuz he'd rather have the hotel/resort feel in maui, whatever that means lol but im undecided.

We stayed at the Hyatt in Maui, Kuiai, and Oahu and it was beautiful at all three. The Hyatt also does an 'Island Hopper' package that offers free breakfast for both of you if you are going to at least 2 islands for 5 or more days, and stay at the Hyatt on both
