We registered at bb&B and Target. If you register online at Target (which is what we did) be careful b/c most of those items are only available online

We registered at Fortuneoff and Target. We found Fortuneoff to be less $ than Macy's for items we wanted, and Target reaches all OOT guests.

We registered at Linens and Things and Target. Originally we were going to do Macy's and Target, but the place settings I liked were $13 less at Linens and Things

Re: re: Registry

We used crate and barrel, which I would only recommend if you a few things, on there..not a large majority of your items. It seemed like every week something was 'limited quantity' or on backorder. Very annoying!

Plus I just got this email the other day about a change in their 'returns policy.' I have not had my shower yet, but I don't imagine too many people will attach the original receipt to their gifts.

'As you register for and receive gifts, please take note that we are initiating a few changes to our return policy.

Beginning September 2007, Crate and Barrel will accept merchandise returns within 90 days of purchase and issue a credit or refund at the time of return only with a valid receipt. A valid receipt is an original sales receipt, gift receipt or packing slip. Returns without a receipt require a valid photo ID and will receive a Shop Card refund via mail.

We will be happy to assist you with any Gift Registry exchanges and returns. To simplify the process, please remember to present the gift receipts packaged in the shipping or gift boxes. '

ETA bed bath and beyond will give you cash for returns

We did BB&B and Target, but just FYI returning things at Target was a nightmare (they didn't take anything back even though two were bought off the registry). For more info, I'd recommend reading this post VENT!!! Target Gift Registry. As for BB&B, they have been a dream to work with HTH!

Re: re: Registry

We had planned on doing BBB and Fortunoff and Macy's. However, after going to BBB, we really didn't want to go anywhere else. They had everything we wanted plus some. And we loved how the bridal consultant there in the registry section was so helpful. She went through the store with us-pushing a little mini dining table. As you buy things, she sets it up on the table-so you and FH can get a visual of what your table will look like. She even ordered things for us that weren't in their store but knew came with our collection. They don't work on commission-so we knew she wasn't trying to sell us anything. The only thing is that not all BBB's have a real full registry section with china and everything. I don't know where you live but Westbury does but W. Babylon and Farmingdale don't. So check out which ones have it before going. HTH

Re: re: Registry

I registered everywhere I feel like. LOL This is my assessment:

Macys: really good, no problems so far and you get star rewards so after the wedding you'll get a credit for 5% of the purchases your guests make and 10% of the purchases you make on your Macys charge. If your shower and wedding falls after the holidays this year and you do your shopping there, you can make out pretty well in the end.

BBB and LNT: both were fine

Crate and Barrel: I agree with the PP about the return policy and the items being unavailable. In addition, I don't know where you are from or where your guests are from, but most of my guests did not make the trip to Manhasset to get me a shower gift. I had 106 people invited to my shower and I got 3 gifts from there.

Bloomingdales: Highly recommend. the customer service is outstanding and they have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with.
