Hi all - Partly because of the war but mainly because Sandals wants the ENTIRE amount 45 days before we get there (smack dab in the middle of all other vendor payments, will cripple us), we are re-thinking the Sandals St. Lucia thing. We are now thinking domestically.
Question any all-inclusives in the US? Any awesome resorts we should know about? FH is keenly interested in The Keys, as am I. South Florida would be fine with both of us. But what else? Not Hawaii - too far. I am interested in the Napa Valley and Vegas is totally out.
Thanks for anything you can tell me...

Re: Re-THinking the Honeymoon- Help!
Hi!
What about Mexico?? They have tons of all-inclusives.... And it looks BEAUTIFUL there! We considered it, but we don't have much time for travelling.
I'm not sure about All-Inclusives in the US...
But just so you know, I think all travel agencies require the same thing... I had to make a deposit and then 45 days before my HM we have to pay the rest... I paid half already this way the bulk isn't too much left!
Good luck Rachel!

Check out Little Palm Island near the Keys in Florida. It is all inclusive and super luxury and supposed to amazing especially for a honeymoon. If you do a google search you should be able to pull up the info.

I would love to do a whole rent a convertible and travel all over FLorida trip - stay in Naples, Sanibel Island and then go down to the Keys....he says 'Ok, food for thought, let's think about it.'

I had to pay the entire thing by that time too. It is standard.
Sandals has a good gurantee, so I wouldnt worry. I think you should still go. I went to St. Lucia and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

IT'S YOUR HONEYMOON! Go to St.Lucia! Florida is not a Honeymoon!
I went to Cancun 2 weeks after 911, and while I was there, I got a newspaper telling us that we started bombing over there! I was paranoid! But everything went smoothly and we had a great time!
A Honeymoon is time to forget the rest of the world and enjoy your time together as a married couple. Don't let the war hold you back from a great vacation! Whats the difference if you are on a plane for 3 hours or 5 hours? Go where you want!

Thrilled- have you thought about travel insurance. We paid an extra $89 per person and we can cancel for any reason and get all of our money back up until the plane is supposed to leave. Ask your travel agent.

Re: Re:'Re-THinking'the'Honeymoon-'Help!
We didn't do Sandals cuz of the expense of it. & the reviews I read were too mixed to pay that kinda $$. How about goign to the same location, but trying a different hotel chain? I'm sure they can't be the only all inclusive there. Check Superclubs or Couples maybe they have hotels there. We're doing Couples & feel we get more for our $. BUt no matter what I'd def. try to work it out to go to St. Lucia if that's your desire - you only get 1 HM! Good luck!

We got the Marriott in Ft. Lauderdale off Priceline for 40 bucks a night last summer!!! IT's awesome!
Sanibel island, Panama City, Destin are all really awesome. It is basically real close to us in Pensacola.
My parents are staying in www.sandestinresort.com (I think that is the website) when they visit us in may

Thrilled....
A Napa honeymoon would be amazing!!!!!!!!! Just think, you have all the wineries that you can visit, you can stay at a resort (there are some great ones in the area)...You can have dinner at French Laundry (what some say is the best french restaurant in the COUNTRY) and you can do a drive down the coast. You can go to Carmel, Big Sur.... I LOVE THE CALIFORNIA COAST....
You make it into an AMAZING honeymoon.....French Laundry
I know you are from Texas, but South Padre Island seems to be a hot spot. I've never been though so I have no information about it. I just know a few of friends who have been there.

Your original HM sounds great and there are plenty of others out there but a word of advice if you wouldn't mind...check into payment schedules of some places before seriously considering changing the HM. I think many places want payment 45 days before the HM. I'm sure there are places that don't require this! GOOD LUCK!
